Peoria-based JK Williams Distilling took home “Best in State” honors for its Gold Zephyr Straight Bourbon Whiskey in the American Craft Spirits Association (ASCA) Heartland Whiskey Competition held this summer. The competition was open to craft whiskeys from all 50 states who incorporate corn in their mash bill. Best in State trophies were awarded to those whiskeys with the highest single-product score in its respective state, regardless of whiskey category.

In addition, JK Williams recently kicked off its new Bridge Series with the release of two new spirits, including its first American wheat whiskey and its first clear spirit, an 80 proof vodka. The Bridge Series honors Peoria’s Murray Baker Bridge along with the city’s rich distilling history. The JK Williams brand will soon be available statewide, with plans for continued expansion in 2022. PM
