After I heard Lee Ann Womack sing the popular, "I Hope You Dance" song, I went to the store to purchase the CD to give to my children with a heartfelt note. I hoped the words in the song would encourage them, as they express my prayers and dreams for their future and happiness.
Except for the diverse jobs she performed for her parents’ small businesses growing up, Joyce Harant has always made health issues her career. In 1979 Harant moved to Peoria to accept the position of president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Heart of Illinois, work which she continues today.
