No Limits at NASA

An alumnus of ICC and Bradley received the highest national honor given to scientists and engineers who are beginning their research careers.

Dr. Jonathan Sauder

Dr. Jonathan Sauder, alumnus of Illinois Central College and Bradley University, was recently among 18 NASA researchers to receive the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers—the highest national honor given to scientists and engineers who are beginning their research careers.

Dr. Sauder earned the award for demonstrating innovative technologies to enable a new class of space missions—having served as lead mechanical engineer on NASA’s RainCube project and as a NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts fellow and principal investigator for a Venus rover.

He credits his ICC experience for laying the foundation for his education. “While they say the ‘sky is the limit,’ given the vast expanses of space, there really are no limits to where an education and determination can take you,” he explains. PM
