The Peoria Park District’s Luthy Botanical Garden will present the 2011 Rhapsody in Bloom Arts Festival on Saturday, June 25th, from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, June 26th, from noon to 5pm. This is the ninth year for the signature event, celebrating art, music, food and bloom, and is sponsored by WCBU 89.9 FM and the Times Newspapers.
Check out the inspired works of a diverse array of local artists, enjoy the sounds of talented musicians and performers, and sample the culinary creations of some of Peoria’s finest eateries, surrounded by gorgeous landscapes and spectacular floral displays. Highlights include:
- A juried art competition with 40-50 booths displaying a variety of artistic mediums
- Children’s art and activities hosted by volunteers on both days
- The amazing Rotating Sculpture Garden, featuring pieces by local sculptors on display
- Silent auction with unique, one-of-a-kind art
- A diverse selection of local food vendors
- Musical groups and performers throughout both days
- Master gardeners on hand to answer questions about gardening
- Outstanding floral and herbal exhibits, including the annual Bonsai Show, presented by the Heart of Illinois Bonsai Club.
