The Peoria area’s access to medical care just got a little easier with the opening of Methodist Medical Center’s newest physician outpatient services facility. Methodist North at Allen Road opened for business March 29th, bringing together two existing physician practices with a full range of diagnostic healthcare services. The facility, located at Route 6 and Allen Road, is the new home to Methodist at Allen Road-Family Medicine and Methodist at Allen Road-Pediatrics. Both offices were previously located on North Knoxville under the name of Methodist at Mt. Hawley. Other physician services at the new complex include the Methodist Comprehensive Foot and Ankle Center and Methodist Medical Group Cardiology.
Diagnostic services in the new three-story outpatient complex include a state-of-the-art medical imaging center as well as an outpatient lab. The imaging suite includes all-digital x-ray services including screening mammography with specially-trained female technologists using the latest digital breast imaging equipment.
Unlike some outpatient imaging centers, Methodist North offers advanced MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography). A General Electric 3T scanner provides the very latest imaging technology.
The new facility also includes the latest spiral CT (Computed Tomography) scanner that gathers 64 views per second for high-resolution images. To further improve patient safety, the CT scanner provides low-dose radiation so each patient, including pediatric patients, gets only the amount of radiation needed to obtain the proper scans.
Other imaging tests available at Methodist on Allen Road include general ultrasound (sonograms) of the abdomen and pelvis, vascular ultrasound (imaging of veins and arteries), echocardiograms (heart imaging), and DEXA bone density scans for both adults and children.

Our registered technologists obtain high definition images using the most advanced technology available. Experienced local radiologists interpret all images and are always available to consult with the patient’s physician. Plus, in most cases, we offer same-day appointments for all imaging tests.”
For kids, the new Methodist at Allen Road-Pediatrics offers a unique atmosphere geared towards making an office call a more enjoyable experience. The enlarged practice facility is designed with a seaside theme and decorated with colors of the beach. The reception area includes a 300-gallon salt water aquarium as well as two interactive LED floor and ceiling projectors that include 250 images that are projected on the floor and interact with the kids as they walk on the projected image. Separate waiting areas protect children who are well from those who are ill.
Methodist North at Allen Road is also home to a Methodist pharmacy, professional therapy services, and a community conference center for community health forums and other public events.
Registering for services at the new Methodist North building is easier than ever. MyMethodist Express lets patients confirm scheduled appointments and check in quickly and easily. MyMethodist Express integrates with Methodist Information Systems to make check-in and checkout more convenient, while reducing costs and errors.
