Vito P. Minneci is a New Product Introduction program manager in the Core Engine Development Division of Caterpillar Inc., responsible for managing new engine development programs that meet customer expectations for cost, quality, performance and delivery time, while achieving the next generation of emissions standards. Minneci leads Caterpillar’s Tier 4 Interim and Tier 4 Final engine development programs, which provide emissions-compliant engines to all of the world-wide markets Caterpillar serves for machine, industrial and electric power generation applications.
While leading teams involving representatives from engineering, marketing, purchasing, manufacturing and product quality, Minneci also co-leads a major product structuring initiative within the Large Power Systems Division. He is currently leading change through the development and implementation of optimization strategies, resulting in improved efficiencies and profitability for the company.
Minneci supports employee development by volunteering as a mentor for new company employees. In his previous position as engineering manager for Caterpillar Machine Engines, he led the CMEC Employee Satisfaction Team, which conducted a number of activities and led to some of the highest employee opinion survey scores for employee engagement within Caterpillar. Minneci’s team was also awarded Caterpillar’s Annual Quality Improvement award for their project entitled “Validation of Value, SystemOne Undercarriage.”
An active member of St. Mary’s Parish in Kickapoo, Minneci is a member of St. Mary’s Parish Finance Council, a board member of the school’s Education Commission, a board member of St. Mary’s Athletic Booster’s Club, and a team member of St. Mary’s School Marketing Committee. He is also a member of the Bishop Rosati Council of the Knights of Columbus.
A former Bradley University soccer player, Minneci has been the soccer coordinator for St. Mary’s Parish for the last three years and a soccer coach for the last six. He has also coached youth soccer in the Peoria Park District and indoor soccer in the Mossville River City Soccer League for the past four years. Minneci serves as referee coordinator for the Peoria Parochial Soccer Association, no minor task with over 80 teams, 290 regular-season games and a year-end tournament. He also developed and implemented a free referee clinic to ensure there were enough referees to cover the games. Over the past two years, Minneci has trained and certified over 50 new referees. iBi
