Robert O. Viets joined Central Illinois Light Company (CILCO) in Peoria, to manage the company’s regulatory and financial activities.In 1985, Viets led the formation of CILCORP, Inc., a non-regulated holding company which became the parent company of CILCO. The corporate restructuring was designed to prepare the company for competition in the retail electric and natural gas energy markets.
