Airport Issues

Holiday Travel
The holiday season is here and we are very excited to be able to provide quality, convenient service. There are many things to be thankful for and we are thankful for our customers choosing the Greater Peoria Regional Airport.

With the holidays, travelers anticipate many things, like longer lines and crowded airports and airplanes. There is one thing I can assure you—our airplanes will be full—so please remember to come to the airport earlier than usual so you can navigate the crowds with less hassle. And being that you are flying from Peoria, the crowds will not be anything like the “other” airports to the north of us…but we do encourage you to understand that due to the new security requirements for carry-on luggage, things may be a little new to some people who have not been on an airplane since August 10, 2006, when the new requirements came out. Remember, you can only bring one quart-sized zipper bag containing up to 3 oz of liquid, gel or paste as you can fit comfortably in the bag. That bag must be removed from your carry-on bag before you proceed through the security checkpoint. Other than that, you can check your bags at the airline you are flying with as many liquid, gel or paste products as you want.

Please go to our website www.flypia.com for more information. From there, you can access the Transportation Security Administration’s website for specific information about security requirements and procedures.

The staff at the Greater Peoria Airport Authority wishes you a safe and enjoyable holiday season. There are many things to come in 2007. We are preparing for a year of growth, new business and a lot of improvements to our facilities. Happy Holidays! IBI
