Airport Issues

Summer Excitement

The Greater Peoria Airport Authority and Prairie Air Show, Inc. (PAS) are excited to announce that for the fourth year in a row, an air show will take place at the Greater Peoria Regional Airport July 22 and 23.

Currently, PAS has scheduled such performers as the Goodyear Aerostars USA, a precision flight demonstration team whose aerial ballet captivates air show audiences as it maneuvers in the sky with its three Yak 52 TW aircraft (a WWII-type aerobatic trainer); the Lima Lima Flight Team, another precision demonstration team flying its six T34 aircraft; Mary Dilda and the Two of Hearts Air Racing Team, continuing to thrill fans with her breathtaking aerial acrobatics and lighting-fast speeds; the Air Force and Navy demonstration aircraft, as well as the CH47 Chinook and UH60 Blackhawk Demo teams; and the Tids Extra 200. And if you’re still looking for excitement, Paul “Hot Rod” Stender will be here to heat things up with his new Jet Beer Truck, and “OTTO” the helicopter will be here to thrill children and adults alike.

In addition, there will be numerous static displays, informational booths, and food stands available all day, so bring the family out for a fun-filled day. The gates open at 9 a.m., with the air show starting at 11:30 a.m.

As we move closer to the air show date, more performer information will become available on the PAS and airport web sites at www.prairieair.org or www.flypia.com.  Also, feel free to join us at our booths during the 21st Annual Area Business Connection March 28 to learn more exciting details firsthand from the professionals who put on these amazing air shows.
