Robert Garcia serves as clinical strategy analyst manager at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center (SFMC), primarily responsible for the overall clinical strategies that support the Patient Care Division. Combining analytical, computer and communication skills, he is the primary resource to assist the director of clinical financial effectiveness, nursing directors and managers of the Patient Care Division, while working closely with the Patient Care Services financial manager to improve processes relative to care delivery.
Over the last four years, Garcia has grown his department while helping to achieve clinical savings of $30 million without compromising quality or patient safety. Under his mentorship, the team and the medical center have been able to successfully integrate the use of data and care standardization into the healthcare industry, which historically has been driven by individual physician practice.
A proud parent of two sons, Garcia is heavily involved in volunteering his time to support their activities. A former football player at Monmouth College and for the Bloomington Edge, he coaches youth in the Washington Junior Football League, as well as in baseball and basketball, leading by example to instill good sportsmanship and a strong work ethic. As a volunteer football coach at Washington Community High School, he dedicates more than 20 hours a week to work with student-athletes, assisting the head coach in organizing and administering all aspects of the program, with specific responsibilities working with wide receivers. He helps plan training and practice sessions, administers daily workout sessions, and performs game-day coaching responsibilities and post-game video analysis.
For the past two years, Garcia has volunteered his time at a football camp fundraiser to benefit children with cystic fibrosis through the Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation. In addition, he obtained his MBA from Ashford University in 2013. iBi
