Kyle Essex

Cullinan Properties, Ltd.

As a senior project manager for Cullinan Properties, Kyle Essex assists in the design, planning and development activities for a diverse range of real estate, building construction and development projects. Across nearly 13 years with the firm, he has completed projects at more than 20 properties within its past and present portfolio, ranging from basic remodels to the development of The Levee District in East Peoria and The Shoppes at Grand Prairie in Peoria, to several medical office buildings in the Peoria area and throughout the country, bringing new jobs and opportunities to the community.

A proud father of two daughters, Essex coaches 8U and 10U girls softball and second- and fifth-grade girls basketball in his hometown of Farmington. He has also served as a volunteer head coach for YMCA basketball and soccer. Volunteer coaching has allowed him to live out his childhood dream of teaching and coaching—inspiring youth that hard work, communication, dependability and teamwork are a solid foundation for anything they want to achieve in life.

Essex serves on the Farmington Recreation Commission and is a St. Jude runner, having recently completed the Canton to Peoria run. He is also a longtime platelet donor for the American Red Cross, an essential need for cancer patients and those with chronic diseases and traumatic injuries.

Essex earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural studies with a concentration in real estate from the School of Architecture at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, hunting, fishing, running, boating and traveling with his daughters Ava and Ella, and wife Laura. iBi
