As U.S. Army Account Manager for Caterpillar, Ike Malson focuses on the marketing and sales of heavy equipment and machine products for the U.S. Army—the company’s largest customer by fleet size. He has 17 cumulative years of experience leading multiple teams, directing business partners in sales and operations, managing change initiatives as an ambassador for new technology, and controlling multi-million dollar assets throughout the United States and abroad.
A Peoria native and West Point graduate, Malson served his country for nine years as a U.S. Army combat veteran, earning the rank of captain as well as the Bronze Star Medal. His military career was highlighted by his distinguished service in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he coordinated the combat operations that resulted in the seizure of Ba’Qubah airfield. He then served in a number of leadership positions with RDO Equipment Company, one of the largest industrial equipment distributors in North America.
A proud Woodruff graduate, Malson is vice president of the Woodruff High School Alumni Association, which awards scholarships and grants to graduates of the high school, as well as students at the Woodruff Career and Technical Center. He served as the United Way campaign facility coordinator for Caterpillar’s Industry Solutions group, orchestrating a fundraising campaign that resulted in 91-percent participation—the highest in the organization’s history. He also led the company's participation in Dozer Day—a charity event that allows children to drive dozers, excavators and other heavy equipment alongside professional operators.
An active member of the United Way’s GENeration United organization and a Junior Achievement volunteer at Roosevelt Magnet School, Malson served on the Agriculture Center of Excellence Advisory Board in Washington State for three years and has volunteered his time for Habitat for Humanity in both Washington and Peoria.
In addition to his community service and work responsibilities, Malson enjoys motorcycle riding, fishing and spending time with his wife and children. He is an extraordinary leader whose many accomplishments have greatly benefited Caterpillar and the heavy equipment industry, his local community and his country. iBi
