Each year, Veterans’ Memorial Park in Delavan hosts period demonstrations, historical impersonators and full-scale battles for Civil War Days—the kickoff to a full season of reenactment events around the region.
As we celebrate another Independence Day, I’m excited once again to join thousands of you on the Peoria Riverfront for UnityPoint’s Red White and Boom! fireworks display.
Red, White and Boom! got its start as the 1987 Skyconcert—a couple thousand dollars of fireworks synchronized to music from KZ-93. It’s since blossomed into a six-figure pyrotechnic display, headlining a weekend of riverfront events.
J.R. Biersmith, a Bradley alum, returned to Peoria with Sa’ad and Saadiq in May for a private screening of Men in the Arena. Afterward, they took part in a Q&A session.
