As Illinois Regional Sales Manager for Altorfer Inc., the hometown dealer for Caterpillar in Peoria, Craig W. Robeen is responsible for driving heavy construction sales and rentals and acting as the local liaison between Altorfer and Caterpillar corporate. He oversees eight salespersons across the state and manages relationships with the Associated General Contractors of Illinois, Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association and Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers, among other groups.
Under Robeen’s leadership, Altorfer has developed a young sales team into the market leader in machine unit sales in 2015, having grown a sales territory from $4 million in annual sales to $13 million in an eight-year span. In addition to 10 direct reports, he leads a cross-divisional team of six to leverage opportunities to sell compact equipment in the rental and agricultural industries and serves as Altorfer’s pipeline opportunity manager. For these efforts, he has twice received the “Top Gun” Award for sales excellence and was runner-up three times.
Robeen manages sponsorships and facilitates machine support for a range of charitable organizations, including Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure; Girl Scouts of Central Illinois; W. D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America; St. Jude; and Easter Seals. An associate board member of the Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association and chair of its annual convention committee, he has been a guest speaker for various groups on topics ranging from the local economic climate to the inner workings of a Caterpillar dealership. He was also instrumental in Altorfer/Caterpillar-coordinated relief efforts via machine support to the communities of East Peoria and Washington after the November 2013 tornado.
A former football star at Indiana University, Robeen played for the Scottish Claymores in the NFL Europe League, in addition to pre-season stints with the Indianapolis Colts and Oakland Raiders. He and his wife, Crecia, live in Morton with their three daughters, Mabry, Landry and Brooksley. iBi
