Schnucks, the St. Louis-based regional grocery chain, opened a second Peoria location at Knoxville Crossing last month—a 70,000-square-foot, full-service supermarket featuring Fresco, an in-store restaurant. “We promised Peoria residents something special,” says Blake Beekman, store manager. “This store will offer customers a shopping experience that is second to none in central Illinois.”
Located on Knoxville between Alta and Wilhelm roads, the new Schnucks plans to showcase live music and entertainment on weekends—continuing a nationwide trend of large supermarkets transforming themselves into destinations for more than grocery shopping. Open 6am to midnight daily, the new Knoxville location will also feature expanded alcohol and produce sections; service meat and seafood departments, including a sushi bar; and a full-service pharmacy with drive-through convenience. iBi
