Kristin Kern Snider

Pink Sugar Boutique

As a co-owner and buyer for Pink Sugar Boutique, Kristin Kern Snider selects merchandise, formulates marketing strategies, and manages inventory, personnel and day-to-day operations. Kern Snider’s unique energy and enthusiasm have propelled this young leader to own her own business by the age of 30. Her initial success allowed the business to move to a more prominent location and caused her to be recognized as an area leader in seasonal fashion trends. Prior to her current position, she worked for the Neighborhood House, an organization she continues to support through volunteerism.

With a strong commitment to bettering her community, Kern Snider offers at least 20 hours of her time each month to a variety of worthy organizations. As a board member for Dress for Success Peoria at Friendship House, she aids in fundraising efforts and helps organize a fashion show to benefit the nonprofit. She also sells merchandise and hosts events at Pink Sugar, donating proceeds to Dress for Success.

A founding member of GENeration United at the Heart of Illinois United Way, Kern Snider serves as a spokesperson for the organization, working to promote philanthropy among the area’s young professionals. She chairs the Service Committee, holding monthly meetings to develop a calendar of volunteer projects, and has participated in many of them, including those benefiting the American Red Cross, Midwest Food Bank, Friends of PWA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Success by Six and Common Place. She was active in organizing the annual GENeration United Mad Dash, which raised more than $23,000, and has served as a campaign ambassador for the United Way.

A dedicated classroom teacher for Junior Achievement, Kern Snider teaches first- through third-grade students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Earlier this year, she was recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals as an individual with a personal understanding of how to best engage this generation of young professionals. Her sincerity and willingness to serve others can be seen in the way she lives her life every day. iBi
