As vice president of internal operations at Philippi-Hagenbuch, Danette Swank oversees administrative operations for the company and its subsidiary, Welarco Fabrications. She heads up the PHIL/WEL wellness program and organizes all associate events, both internal and external.
Swank led the company and its associates to implement a comprehensive wellness program to address employee health issues and the rising costs of healthcare. The program, now in its fourth year, encompasses the Wellness Olympics; an annual weight loss challenge, wellness check and follow-up; and nutrition programs.
Swank’s active involvement in the Young Leaders Council of the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association was put to good use when she became a founding member of the Illinois Manufacturers Association Young Leaders Council. In this group, she and other next-generation leaders share best practices, ideas and plans, and focus on the future of the industry. Swank’s leadership and planning talents also led to an invitation to join the planning committees for both ConExpo, the largest trade show for the construction industry, and MINExpo, the world's most comprehensive exposition dedicated to mining.
In addition to her work at Philippi-Hagenbuch, Swank co-owns Squeaky Clean Laundry Company and lends guidance to its associates. She is a graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School and continues to build her professional skills through a variety of human resources programs.
A strong leader in the community, Swank serves on the Human Resources Committee and youth group program at the United Presbyterian Church. She is a board member of the Peoria Production Shop, serving on its Human Resources Subcommittee, and is active in the Charter Oak Grade School Mentor Program and the Peoria YWCA Leader Luncheon Planning Committee. Her past volunteerism includes work with the Junior League of Peoria, Peoria Jaycees, Lakeview Museum and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois. iBi
