As senior vice president of Illinois Mutual, McCord Jenkins reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for the management of the sales, information technology, insurance and operations divisions. She plays an integral role in developing corporate policy, strategy and objectives, and is a member of the company’s board of directors.
McCord Jenkins serves on several committees within Illinois Mutual. She chairs the Strategic Planning, Leadership Development and Enterprise Risk Management groups, and is a member of the DI Product, Life Product and Investment Committees.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, McCord Jenkins gives much of her time to serving her community. As an officer of Illinois Mutual, she supports the company’s commitment to contribute to those organizations that make a difference in the lives of those in central Illinois, including the United Way, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Peoria Humane Society’s Bark in the Park, The Salvation Army and the ICC Scholarship Fund.
McCord Jenkins serves on the board for Common Place and is a former board member of the YWCA of Peoria and Women’s Fund of Central Illinois Community Foundation. Her current role on the board of directors for the Council for Disability Awareness will help the organization reach its mission of making the American workforce aware of the growing likelihood of disability and its financial consequences.
A graduate of Boston University, McCord Jenkins recently earned her executive master’s of business administration from Bradley University, where she was honored by faculty as Executive MBA Outstanding Student of the Year. In recognition of this achievement, she was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma international honor society for collegiate schools of business. McCord Jenkins was named one of the 25 Women in Leadership by WEEK in 2004.
