Jennifer Mellon Keffeler is the marketing recruiting and development supervisor for the Global Marketing Talent Division at Caterpillar Inc. She is responsible for developing 32 to 35 product support representatives for positions as liaisons with Cat dealers in North and South America. She is also the lead marketing recruiter for Illinois State University.
Keffeler has distinguished herself as a leader at Caterpillar, both as a Six Sigma Black Belt and in supervising new marketing hires in field positions. During her two years in the company’s North American Commercial Division (NACD), she led the completion of six projects, with far-reaching results. Since joining the Global Marketing Talent Division, she has led recruiting efforts and supervised 70 new marketing employees through their initial training and development. Recently, she led the project to revamp the Marketing Development Program.
In the community, Keffeler is well known to several organizations. She is involved in the Junior League of Peoria, supporting the Peoria Playhouse campaign, and is on the team seeking corporate support for the project. She is a board member of the Peoria Women’s Fund, which provides grants for programs in the area that support women and children. Keffeler serves the Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and works with the children’s program and serves on the drama team at Richwoods Community Church.
As a member of NACD’s Work Life Balance Team, Keffeler proposed the establishment of a “Charity of the Year,” and worked with the team to implement the program, which was nominated for the Caterpillar’s Chairman’s Award for Community Service. This year, she completed the Making Great Leaders program at Caterpillar, in addition to earning an MBA from Bradley University.
