Amy Frakes is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt in the Global Purchasing Department at Caterpillar Inc. She is responsible for leading global sourcing projects, as well as providing leadership to the supplier quality excellence process. She has worked at Caterpillar for the past 13 years and is a strong leader who has made significant contributions to her company and to the community.
Frakes led the global sourcing team for Andon equipment in support of Caterpillar facilities worldwide and the Caterpillar production system, with an estimated $5 million savings. She has provided leadership to four business units and eight staff members during implementation of new procurement software. She received her MBA from St. Ambrose University.
Frakes achieved certification as a Black Belt in less than the standard two years. She was a member of the Global Purchasing Indirect 2005 Annual Quality Improvement Team, which won Caterpillar’s top AQI award, and was a member of the team to first certify an indirect supplier for the MQ11005 supplier quality excellence program.
Frakes serves as a board member for Dress for Success Peoria, chairing the event in 2007 and serving as a co-chair in 2008. She recently became part of the Easter Seals steering committee for the 2009 campaign and is a member of Team Daugherty. Frakes also serves as a member of the Saint Mary of the Woods College National Alumnae Board.
Amy Frakes is committed and passionate about her work and the organizations she supports. She brings new ideas to the table and takes on challenging responsibilities, naturally migrating to a leadership role.
