Sunshine: Now Available Non-Stop
The Greater Peoria Regional Airport is starting out 2005 with a bang. First, GPRA was named the 2005 Primary Airport of the Year by members of the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Aeronautics for outstanding work in the areas of airport maintenance, community support, and promotion of aviation. Now, the same airline that brought Peoria non-stop service to Las Vegas is introducing non-stop service to Orlando. Starting May 26, passengers can fly non-stop from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport to Orlando Sanford International Airport on Allegiant Air.
The non-stop service to Orlando will operate four times weekly, with service Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flights will depart Peoria at 11:45 a.m. and arrive in Orlando at 3:10 p.m. Flights leaving Orlando will depart at 9:40 a.m. and arrive in Peoria at 11:10 a.m. The current schedule for non-stop Las Vegas service operates every day except Saturdays and Tuesdays. Allegiant will continue to utilize full-size, 130 passenger, MD-87 jet aircraft on its routes.
Recently, Allegiant celebrated its one-year anniversary for non-stop jet service from Peoria to Las Vegas. Since its inauguration in Peoria, the airline has carried more than 66,500 passengers to Las Vegas.
