A whole-food, plant-based meal preparation service, Up Beet Jams was founded last year during quarantine to address the lack of vegan and gluten-free options in Peoria. “I was preparing food for a friend each week, which then grew into three friends, then a few more, then their friends, and it snowballed into a full business,” notes owner Jam Rohr, who is also a sculptor and co-owner of Black Dog Metal Arts. The menu rotates every week, offering creative recipes that are affordable, nutritious and filling. “We are excited to expand into catering services this summer,” Rohr adds, “and can’t wait to see what other opportunities arise!”
