For six years, Sculpture Walk Peoria has brought Washington Street in downtown Peoria to life, and this year is no different. In spite of COVID-19, the ArtsPartners of Central Illinois program continues to engage visitors and residents as a free, outdoor public art exhibit with sculptures rotating on an annual basis.
“Now more than ever, we need outdoor spaces that provide safe and inspiring experiences as we cope with the after-effects of sheltering-in-place,” notes ArtsPartners executive director Jenn Gordon. “Whether people experience the sculptures from their car, through their smartphone, online from their homes or in person, this year’s Sculpture Walk reminds us that the arts are indeed essential during times of crisis.”
