In 1967, the very first Morton Pumpkin Festival was organized to celebrate the beginning of harvest and canning season at the local pumpkin plant. Over half a century later, the family-friendly festival is more popular than ever, welcoming 70,000 visitors and residents to the “Pumpkin Capital of the World” for four days each September.
More than 30 special events are coordinated by over 2,000 volunteers—from live music and entertainment, to carnival rides, games and runs, to parades and competitions. And let’s not forget the food—including a wide range of tasty, pumpkin-infused delicacies!
