As marketing manager for Cullinan Properties, Nicole L. Sutherland leads the charge on day-to-day marketing activities—from preparing client presentations, networking and community events to internal and external interaction with business professionals. She manages business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing for Cullinan’s Peoria-area properties, coordinates nearly every detail of its trade show participation around the country, and helps tenants develop marketing plans to ensure the success of their businesses.
Besides helping to lead Cullinan’s marketing team to win gold and silver-level ADDY awards from the Peoria chapter of the American Advertising Federation, Sutherland’s efforts to promote East Peoria’s Levee District helped the property gain media recognition as a favorite destination for shopping and dining. A member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, she serves on the ICSC Programming and Planning Committee.
Sutherland is past secretary and current board member for ArtsPartners of Central Illinois, serving as a committee member for The Business of Art conference and a volunteer for the annual Ignite Peoria celebration of arts and creativity. She has worked with Keep Peoria Beautiful for three years, serving as board secretary and vice president, helping to create a comprehensive strategic plan and applying for grants to move the organization forward. As a board member of the Springdale Historic Preservation Foundation, she focuses on growing membership and public awareness through the Marketing & Membership Committee.
Sutherland has also served on committees for the Heart of Illinois United Way, Easterseals’ Wines and Polo on the Prairie event, the Quest Charter School Throwback Prom fundraiser, and numerous other initiatives. She is a past volleyball coach at Holy Family School and a graduate of the City of Peoria/Peoria County Citizen’s Leadership Academy and Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School.
