As director of annual giving for the W. D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America, Danielle Easton manages, implements and oversees all fundraising, marketing and communications throughout a 14-county area. During her tenure with the organization, she has been responsible for leading a team that has raised more than $5 million to support local Scouting. Her leadership with the annual Distinguished Citizen Award ceremony has continued to make it one of the Peoria area’s premier events, and she exemplifies the Scout Oath and Law by serving as a mentor and role model and taking a lead in efforts to better the Peoria community.
In her previous role as director of development and marketing at Crittenton Centers, Easton helped grow the annual Festival of Trees event from $15,000 to $100,000 over five years. Prior to that, she worked at Lakeview Museum as a development officer coordinating underwriting for exhibitions.
Since 2011, Easton has held numerous board positions with the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Central Illinois Chapter, including vice president of communications, president and now past president. As president, she coordinated educational experiences for members and ensured the chapter was fiscally responsible at a time when other chapters across the nation were disbanding or consolidating. In addition, she was responsible for donor recognition and served as a liaison between the local chapter and the national organization for the Be the Cause Campaign.
Easton has been a presenter on fundraising and marketing for the Heart of Illinois United Way’s BoardSERVE initiative for young professionals and a contributing author on the topic of millennials and philanthropy. Selected as one of WEEK-TV’s 25 Women in Leadership in 2017, Easton is involved with a number of other community causes as well, including the Peoria Riverfront Museum, Peoria Zoo, Wildlife Prairie Park and PAWS.
