Bobby Hambrick

Bobby Hambrick is the founder, president and CEO of AutonomouStuff and chief autonomous officer of Hexagon Positioning Intelligence, which acquired AutonomouStuff in 2018. Since founding the company nearly a decade ago, he has brought together an ecosystem of industry leaders to pave the way for the research and development of autonomous vehicles and enable the future of autonomy. He was one of the first to develop and bring to market an automated R&D vehicle, which has become the base for hundreds of automated driving initiatives, and continues to position the company at the forefront of a rapidly-changing industry.

Not only does AutonomouStuff provide R&D platforms, products, software, engineering services and data intelligence to thousands of customers worldwide, it’s been profitable every single month since its inception. Hambrick built the company from the ground up, accepting zero funding from outside sources prior to its sale, and creating a worldwide presence with offices in Silicon Valley, Detroit, Germany, China, Japan and Canada. In addition to guiding his team, cultivating industry relationships, and leading development of the company’s short and long-term strategy, Hambrick advises multiple startup companies and works with robotics teams and universities to inspire future leaders to build a safer and better world.

Hambrick implemented and leads AutonomouStuff’s giving back program, which has included raising funds and resources for the Ronald McDonald House, TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter and Children's Home; yearly participation in “Movember” to raise funds and awareness for men’s health initiatives; helping to build a home for a veteran through Habitat for Humanity; running and raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; sponsoring local robotics clubs, supporting universities worldwide and holding canned food drives, among other initiatives.

Staying true to his roots, Hambrick has kept AutonomouStuff’s headquarters here in central Illinois, despite opportunities to move to key industry locations. He has been featured in a host of national publications, from the Wall Street Journal and New York Times to Forbes and Wired magazines, and has been featured as a keynote speaker and panelist at industry events both nationally and internationally.
