Finding a trustworthy babysitter in the area can be daunting for parents, but luckily, there’s an app for that. Using a private social network, Bambino connects parents to babysitters right in their own neighborhood—and they’ve already been vetted, reviewed and recommended by friends, families and neighbors.
After a fruitless search for a sitter for her own three children, Lisa Barra launched Central Illinois Bambino in June. “I actually stumbled upon Bambino… and it looked like a great option,” she explains. “But it wasn't available yet in our area.” After reaching out to Bambino headquarters, Barra started the process of bringing the app to central Illinois. She now serves as its local coordinator.
“As a mom of three, I find that I constantly need a sitter,” Barra explains. “I used to start sending text messages to sitters, but by the time they each got back to me, I would end up without a scheduled sitter. Bambino takes that struggle away.”
Simply download the app, enter the date and time you need a sitter, add your favorite Bambino sitters to the request, and wait. “They receive notification and can either accept or decline,” Barra adds. “Then confirm the sitter you want through the app and it’s all set.” Like Airbnb or Uber, the app also handles payments, so no cash needs to be exchanged. bambinositters.com PM
