Jamie Stringfield
Jamie Stringfield is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt in Caterpillar’s Advanced Materials Technology Division, where she leads global process improvement projects related to the division’s strategic initiatives. As a Black Belt, Stringfield has led diverse teams of individuals to accomplish goals critical to the success of Caterpillar products and services.
The scope of Stringfield’s leadership has grown to directing truly global teams working on projects of long-term strategic importance for her workgroup, division and the company as a whole. She takes on these projects with a sense of purpose and manages them down to the smallest technical detail, producing results that are not only due to her strong technical skills, but also her exemplification of Caterpillar values.
Academically and professionally, Stringfield has been actively involved in the Society for Women Engineers and is a lifetime member of the organization. She currently serves as president of the central Illinois section and has held other roles, including treasurer, secretary, news editor and webmaster. She has also served on the Communications Committee and Career Guidance Committee, reaching out to elementary and middle school students.
Stringfield has a passion for helping students learn and enjoy science. She helps to judge local science fairs, and has happily accepted requests for high school students to job shadow with her. She volunteers as a literacy tutor for adults enrolled in English as a second language courses and has been a captain of Caterpillar’s intramural basketball and volleyball teams. She also coaches elementary school basketball for her church and the YMCA.
Stringfield has earned the Caterpillar Bronze Environmental Excellence Award. She also received the Central Illinois Society of Women Engineers nomination for Distinguished New Engineer and Central Illinois Section Distinguished Member awards, and is a New Faces of Engineering Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
