Joy Ledbetter

Methodist College of Nursing

Joy Ledbetter serves as the business and human resource services director for the Methodist College of Nursing (MCON). In this position, Ledbetter advises and counsels faculty and staff, MCON leadership and administration regarding human resource issues, laws, protocols and practices across the organizational lines. She prepares and revises operating and capital budgets, manages resources, and uses financial measures to ensure effective management costs to meet the fiscal objectives of the organization.

Ledbetter acts as the liaison for Methodist Health Services Corporation, assuring corporate compliance, security and safety, and assists in leading faculty and staff in accomplishing the mission, vision and goals of the College. She is currently responsible for submitting payroll, paying vendors and assisting in the development of an annual budget. Through advanced use of technology, she has developed many time-saving monitoring and reporting programs that are used throughout the College. She also played a critical role in the school accreditation process with the Higher Learning Commission.

Just one and a half years into her career with MCON, Ledbetter was asked to take on the additional role of director of student services on an interim basis. In this position, she led her staff to perform productively, providing direction and demonstrating a true team approach at a critical time. She also serves on the President’s Cabinet and supervises special projects.

Ledbetter received her Professional in Human Resources certification in 2004. She has been named Employee of the Month at Methodist Medical Center and was inducted into the Limestone Community High School Athletic Hall of Fame this September.

Active in the community, Ledbetter is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Peoria, a youth basketball and softball coach at Elmwood Community Center, an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she teaches Sunday school, and a participant in Rebuilding Together/Christmas in April. She also serves on the Methodist Medical Center of Illinois Employee Crisis Committee and volunteers with the Heart of Illinois United Way, Race for the Cure and the American Red Cross.

In addition to her full-time career, volunteer service and dedication to her family, Ledbetter is also a full-time student, pursuing her MBA at the University of Illinois at Springfield.
