Kevin D. Day
Born and raised in Peoria, Kevin D. Day is an associate attorney for Hasselberg Grebe Snodgrass Urban & Wentworth, helping his clients navigate the complexities of workers' compensation, personal injury, commercial litigation, insurance defense, municipal law, estate planning and family law matters.
He has represented the City of Peoria in various proceedings at the commission, circuit court and appellate levels, and recently won a significant case before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. He also represents the Village of Bartonville, assisting in litigation as high as the Illinois Supreme Court level and submitting a successful Petition for Leave to Appeal—less than four percent of which are accepted out of more than 1,000 filed each year.
Day is an active member of the Peoria County Bar Association, participating on its Workers’ Compensation and Young Lawyers committees, organizing and planning educational seminars, and assisting with a range of special events. He is also involved with the Young Professionals of Greater Peoria, helping to maintain an active network for young professionals involved in the community.
After just one year of board service, Day was elected board president of The Sun Foundation, a nonprofit group that works to advance the arts and environmental sciences in central Illinois. He sat on the inaugural Summer Sundown Committee and chaired the Chemicals in Water Committee, organizing and moderating a discussion on water quality during the Clean Water Celebration, the foundation’s largest community event. He also sits on the board of directors for Neighborhood House, serving on its Personnel Committee, and is active in fundraising efforts for the Independent Sports Club of Central Illinois and Easter Seals.
A leader at his workplace and in the community, Day does not hesitate to undertake any task that is asked of him—and he consistently demonstrates exemplary results. Outside of his community involvement and legal responsibilities, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing and watching sports, listening to music and attending concerts. iBi
