OSF Saint Francis Women’s Services is to proud to feature the GE Healthcare Women’s Health and Wellness Tour during the 2005 O’Brien Team LPGA Charity Classic, which takes place September 19 and 20 at WeaverRidge Golf Club.

The Tour includes two 53-foot vehicles: a health vehicle and a wellness vehicle, with eight medical and wellness demonstration areas free and open to all. Participants have the opportunity to tour the Women’s Health and Wellness vehicles, as well as listen to health information.

The health vehicle contains GE Healthcare technologies to offer free medical screenings and educational information to women, targeting heart disease, breast cancer, and osteoporosis. The Heart Suite will offer blood pressure and pulse screening, the Bone Suite will offer bone density screenings, and the Breast Suite will offer education about mammograms. Dr. Jessica Guingrich will present information on digital mammography and how mammograms are performed.

The health vehicle will be staffed by OSF Saint Francis Women’s Services personnel and will provide free blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and bone density screenings. Dr. Susan Cole will present information on migraines as participants relax in lounge chairs.

The wellness vehicle contains a fully functional kitchen equipped with GE Monogram appliances, which will be used for a heart healthy cooking demonstration. OSF Saint Francis Dietetic Internship Director Golda Ewalt will have some great healthful cooking tips and samples for all.
