The General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport (PIA) announced new nonstop summer specialty services to Rapid City, South Dakota, beginning in August 2021. Rapid City is known for Black Hills National Forest, Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Custer State Park, Devil’s Tower National Monument and Crazy Horse Memorial, to name a few. Service to Rapid City will coincide with the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally running August 4 to 14, 2021.

“Whether you’re a motorcycle fan headed to the big rally, or you just want to go see Mt. Rushmore, Devil’s Tower, and the rest of the monuments and sights of the Black Hills, now’s your chance!” declares Gene Olson, director of airports.

With this addition, Allegiant will now fly to ten locations from PIA. The addition also sets a new record for PIA with 13 nonstop destinations flown to in a single month. The specialty flight not only showcases Allegiant’s flexibility, but continues to provide central Illinois passengers with easy access to once-in-a-lifetime vacation stops.
