National Philanthropy Day
National Philanthropy Day is both an official calendar day and a grassroots movement to celebrate charitable activities. Each year since 1986, when President Reagan first proclaimed November 15 as National Philanthropy Day, communities across the country have hosted events to recognize the activities of donors, volunteers, foundations, leaders, corporations and others engaged in philanthropic causes.
The Central Illinois Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals leads this charge in central Illinois, honoring individuals and organizations whose support contributes significantly to the success of the nonprofit agencies and institutions they serve. “The National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon celebrates the generosity and dedication found within central Illinois,” explains National Philanthropy Day Chair Priscilla Slaughter. “Their giving of time, talent and treasure enriches our community and enables it to flourish.”
The following individuals and organizations will be honored on Wednesday, November 13 at the 36th annual National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon at the Par-A-Dice Hotel:
