Tamara Meister
Tamara Meister is a partner at Butler, Giraudo & Meister, P.C., a firm dedicated to the practice of family law in Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties. She focuses her practice on complex financial matters and custody disputes, working closely with clients to create personalized strategies to resolving their family disputes. She is passionate about advocating for those who need a strong voice, and her preparation, knowledge and attention to detail ensure that her clients present a strong position.
A member of the Tazewell County Bar Association, Peoria County Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association, Meister handles pro bono cases in family law matters and regularly presents at continuing legal education conferences, including serving as a speaker for a program sponsored by Prairie State Legal Services.
Meister also employs her commitment to helping children and families in her role as chairperson of the Crittenton Centers Board of Directors. She has served as a committee member for the agency’s annual Festival of Trees event, chaired its Jingle and Mingle fundraiser, and oversaw many aspects of the Stocking Stuffer Store, including training volunteers and running the cash register. An active member of the Morton Kiwanis Club, she enjoys volunteering and building relationships with the Morton Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis volunteers to raise funds for children in the community.
A talented musician and singer, Meister has performed in more than 30 local theater productions, including serving as the narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for five years and the lead role in Legally Blonde at Eastlight Theatre. She volunteers as a committee member with the Miss Morton Scholarship Pageant, writing the emcee’s script and helping contestants prepare for their interviews, and is actively involved at Blessed Sacrament Church in Morton where her children attend school.
